Leanne Green started her career at Anabas as Operations Manager, progressing to Account Manager, and now playing a key role in managing client relationships and ensuring consistent service excellence across her accounts.
We spoke to Leanne about her career journey, what motivates her, and how her experience on the operational side of the business continues to shape her approach.
My journey at Anabas has been both rewarding and varied. When I joined my focus was on the day-to-day delivery of services, maintaining service standards, and ensuring operational efficiency for our clients.
That role gave me a strong understanding of how services are delivered on the ground and the importance of building strong relationships with both colleagues and clients.
Over time, I became more involved in client engagement, strategic planning and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery. This led to my progression into the Account Manager role, where I now take a more strategic, client-focused approach to ensure we deliver value while supporting long-term client objectives.
My primary responsibility is to act as the main point of contact for my clients and ensure we consistently deliver an excellent service.
Like many people in the industry, I didn’t set out to work in facilities management. I started my career in security administration before moving into a Facilities Assistant role. I really enjoyed it, and from there I’ve continued to develop my career through different opportunities, eventually joining Anabas.
The biggest achievement for me has been my career progression. That step into the Account Manager role reflected the experience, knowledge and relationships I had built within the business and gave me the opportunity to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
A few projects stand out because they pushed me outside my comfort zone and helped me develop professionally. Managing periods of change, implementing service improvements, and working closely with clients to overcome operational challenges have all been valuable experiences.
Working across different sites and clients has also been important. Each account has different priorities, and that has helped me develop stronger problem-solving skills and a broader understanding of the business.
The opportunity to make a positive impact for both our clients and our teams. Every day brings a different challenge. I enjoy working with people to find solutions, improve services to make a real difference.
The people and the culture. There is a genuine sense of teamwork and support across the business, and everyone is focused on delivering the best possible experience for our clients. It’s rewarding to be part of a business that values relationships, service excellence and supporting its people to succeed.
One of the biggest developments has been learning how to build trusted partnerships with clients while maintaining a strong understanding of day-to-day service delivery. I’ve strengthened my ability to balance operational delivery with longer-term client objectives, and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
I see my role as helping to connect client objectives with the operational teams delivering the service every day.
A key part of my role is identifying opportunities for improvement and resolving issues early, before they escalate. When clients feel supported and teams have the right tools and guidance, it creates a positive environment for everyone.
When I first joined, the strong sense of teamwork and commitment stood out immediately, and those values are still at the heart of the business today.
What has evolved is the level of collaboration, development and sharing of best practice across teams. There is a stronger focus on innovation, client partnerships and continuous improvement, while still keeping people at the centre of everything we do.
Come in with an open mind, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Above all, say yes to opportunities. You never know how far you can go if you don’t push yourself.
Anabas is a business that values proactive, collaborative people who are committed to delivering great service. Being adaptable and open to new opportunities will help you get the most from the experience.
Most importantly, focus on relationships. The culture is very team-oriented, and success comes from working together and keeping the client experience top of mind. If you’re willing to contribute, learn, and take on new challenges, it’s a business where you can genuinely grow and build a rewarding career.
Leanne’s career reflects a strong combination of operational expertise, client focus and continuous development. From Operations Manager to Account Manager, her journey highlights the value of understanding service delivery in detail while building strong, lasting client partnerships.
