Tell us more about your role at Anabas and your journey with the company so far? (To include any promotions, training and development, new focus areas etc)
I have been with Anabas for just 6 months but from day one, I’ve loved it here! What makes this company so special is the people; right from the start I felt fully embraced in the culture. Each member of the team is kind, always happy to help and make me, and everyone, feel appreciated. Being part of an organisation like that is deeply important to me, which makes going the extra mile so worth it.
Can you tell us a little bit about your career history?
Since my career journey started, I have worked in starkly diverse industries including banking, food and beverage, automotive, subsea, and now facilities management. This career path has allowed me the opportunity to learn how a broad range of different sectors function, and through it, I’ve developed both in a professional capacity and as a person. Within each sector, I’ve always been part of sales support and marketing roles but with very distinct clientele – which, as you can imagine, has certainly kept me on my feet!
What are the main challenges you face in your role?
My biggest challenge was at the beginning – taking on a role in FM without specific FM experience. It’s true what they say: most people haven’t heard about FM until they’re working in it. I had a lot to learn when I started, and that hasn’t changed, there’s plenty to learn and I’m lucky to have great support from the team; I already feel far more comfortable, and it keeps getting better.
What do you like most about your role and working in FM?
My role lets me work on the marketing side, which I love – especially the digital design part – but I also get to be involved in the bid process more than I ever did in previous roles; I find that very exciting. Working in FM, I have had the opportunity to visit some amazing client offices. Equally I’ve met some great people who work so hard behind the scenes; they really know what it means to deliver a five-star customer service.
What’s been your biggest highlight whilst working at Anabas?
Being nominated by my line manager for ‘Being Brilliant’ after just three months on the team, as recognition for my hard work and being there for others. Receiving the nomination made me feel truly valued and I’m very proud to be part of the Anabas family.
What advice would you give someone who is interested in working in FM?
If you love meeting new people, if you can face difficulties head-on with a smile, and if you’re not afraid of challenges – I’d say go for it! With the right outlook, you’ll achieve so much.
Tell us how Anabas is #brilliantlydifferent?
At Anabas, we all share the same passion for delivering exceptional customer experience. We never stop trying to improve and we’re always there for each other.
To me good customer service is… (finish the sentence)
…treating each and every person with the same respect and always listening carefully to understand their individual needs.
What’s on your bucket list?
Languages are my passion, I already speak Greek, English, Italian and Spanish but as my son gets older, hopefully I’ll have more time to learn a couple more. I’d also love to travel to more, gathering experiences from as many different places and cultures as possible.
