Over recent weeks, colleagues across our business have come together to support Benny, the five-year-old nephew of a member of our Head Office team. Benny was diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma as a toddler and, after intensive treatment, completed his course in March 2025. Sadly, in September 2025 his cancer returned, and his family are now fundraising to access specialist treatment overseas. Despite everything he has faced, Benny remains a happy, caring little boy who loves dinosaurs, Ninja Turtles, and pizza. One day, he dreams of playing for Newcastle United.
In response, the Anabas team set an internal fundraising target to support the Stand by Benny campaign. The generosity and enthusiasm of colleagues across the business have been incredible.
Recently, our Darlington team marked Benny’s fifth birthday with a fundraising cake sale. Colleagues baked at home and arrived with tables full of treats. Throughout the day, teams stopped by to enjoy a slice, share conversations, and show their support.
Importantly, everyone played a part. Every contribution, whether big or small, helped move the campaign forward. Moments like these remind us why we’re proud to be part of Anabas. We step forward for each other, turning compassion into action. The Stand by Benny campaign is a powerful example of our culture in action.
On Wednesday 4th March, a team of Anabas colleagues will take on the Guisborough Three Peaks Challenge. This 10km circular walk through the North York Moors National Park climbs Roseberry Topping, Hanging Stone, and Highcliff Nab. This will be a hilly adventure for the team, challenging but full of camaraderie. On the day, they will wear Stand by Benny woolly hats to show solidarity. Although it may seem like a small gesture, it carries deep meaning for everyone involved.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined us in supporting Benny so far. Your encouragement and kindness mean a lot to the family and our team. You can read more about Benny’s story, or learn how to show your support here: Stand by Benny JustGiving page
