Get to know Leanne Green, Operations Manager at Anabas, as she goes under the spotlight…
What is your current role at Anabas, and how long have you worked here?
I am Operations Manager, and I have worked at Anabas for just over a year.
Why did you choose a career in FM?
I kind of fell into the industry… I started my career in Security administration. I really enjoyed that role and was offered training and a promotion into a Facilities Assistant position. I have gradually progressed further since then.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the FM industry?
Say YES to every opportunity that you are offered, you never know how far you can reach if you don’t push yourself.
What challenges do you foresee for the industry in the coming year?
Facilities companies taking on more responsibilities and more companies outsourcing to providers. On the flip side more business for us.
Who in your career has inspired you?
The Account Directors within Anabas – I hope to become an Account Director one day…
If you were not an Operations Manager, what would you be?
In school I always wanted to work in Law!
What are your hobbies/interests away from the office?
I love going on holiday, I like to go to the gym and meditating. Most importantly, spending quality time with my favourite little human, Cooper, my son.
If you could have dinner with any three people from any time, fictional or non-fictional, who would they be and why?
I’d have dinner with the Spice Girls so we could sing, dance and eat!
Which country would you most like to visit and why?
Next on my list is Thailand – I want to visit the tiger and elephant sanctuary!
What is your proudest moment?
Apart from many Mummy proud moments, I was promoted within 9 months of working at Anabas. This was a really proud moment for me! After Tim, my Account Director, told me, I could not stop smiling! It was a Friday too, so it made my weekend!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Always be yourself…
