Human Resources in the Royal Air Force
2 years and 5 months
Human Resources is a profession that is flexible to any industry. I was drawn more to Anabas as an employer rather than a conscious decision to move to a career in the FM industry.
Brexit – leaving the EU may have a profound impact on the access to human resource; especially in the lower skilled roles within FM. With the majority of staff in this sector and in the lower skilled roles, we are reliant of the Government ensuring we have sufficient access to good people to fill job roles. The CIPD has done well to inform HR professionals of Brexit, however we are ultimately in the dark until the negotiations have been finalised.
I love to see people develop and succeed, it is important to me as a person (not just a HR Manager) that people have the opportunity to realise their ambition. Investment in people means that they want to invest in you. Anabas is developing “in-house” training courses to provide training to our people – the development of our “Centre of Excellence” is a personal goal I am proud to nurture at Anabas.
“Tidy desk, tidy mind” was advice given to me by one of my instructions when I was training to work in HR in the RAF. I have lived by this my entire career and it has served me well.
