Enhancing the employee experience through facilities management

In the ever-changing landscape of the workplace, the importance of facilities management is clear, as it plays a crucial role in shaping exceptional workplace and employee experiences. The traditional emphasis on physical space maintenance has evolved, giving priority to elements such as employee engagement and talent retention.

In this blog, we explore the pivotal role that individuals play in the delivery of facilities management. A notable illustration is the Anabas floor captain role, which proves instrumental in shaping the employee experience. Concentrating on the hybrid workspace environment, amenities, and overall functionality, these individuals can significantly impact employee satisfaction, wellbeing, and productivity.

Improving productivity and efficiencies in the workplace

For hybrid working employees, the agile and flexible workplace needs to be a productive and efficient place to suit different activity-based work styles and cater for individual needs. These spaces need to be maintained to the highest of standards and compete with the comforts and benefits of working at home.

To achieve this, Anabas floor captains are expertly trained on the behaviours that are required in delivering a great customer experience, with emphasis on, “SEE IT, OWN IT, FIX IT”. These individuals ensure the hard and soft FM provisions are operating effectively, and are the daily point of contact for employees and clients seeking support. They achieve this by building relationships in the workplace to improve communication and resolving issues faster for an efficient and productive day in the office.

A focus on employee health, safety and wellbeing

Investing in the health and wellbeing of employees is an evolving strategy for sustained engagement and workplace productivity.

Our floor captains are on hand to support these strategies and create comfortable, safe working environments for employees by identifying and mitigating health and safety risks in the workplace and quickly resolving any issues. They also monitor and make changes to the workplace environment that can have a direct impact on employee wellbeing, such as tracking specialist IoT technology to monitor and analyse environmental factors which can have a direct impact on employee wellness and health.

A proactive approach

The floor captain’s proactive approach ensures that the workplace is consistently maintained to the highest of standards for an elevated employee and guest experience.

Our floor captains will walk through the building and interact with employees to see if there are any further ways to improve their day. The people-centric nature of their role enables them to have a deep understanding of how the workplace is used and know exactly what is required to elevate the experience further.

Anabas floor captains also support wider members of the facilities teams during busier periods. They can often be found supporting our front of house teams, welcoming visitors into the building and escorting them to meeting rooms.

Anabas floor captains don’t just keep the office running, they make it thrive. From ensuring a smooth start to the day to prioritising employee wellbeing, their proactive approach creates a workplace experience that fosters productivity and engagement for employees.
