Held at the Crystal building in London, Workplace Futures 2018 explored the theme of ‘Adding Value’.
Covering everything from technology, people, motivation and productivity, to planning for change and the social impact of FM, the line-up of workplace experts explored some of the biggest topics in FM at the moment.
Tom Robinson, Managing Director of Talent Tomorrow, talked us through the concept of adding value through people, and how to create a culture where people ‘do the best work of their lives’. He shared his findings that people value ‘emotional rather transactional factors’ when it comes to what really matters to them in the workplace.
Workplace Consultant, Neil Usher focused his talk on his theory of the ’12 elements of the elemental workplace’, describing how that should look and the factors that need to be considered. Quite rightly so, Neil insisted that no matter who you work for or where you work, everyone deserves a fantastic workplace…
Martin Pickard, FM industry guru, chaired the jam-packed day whilst Lucy Jeynes, MD of Larch Consulting summarised the day, calling on the audience for input and participation.
Finally, not forgetting the technology awards, presented by Simon Iatrou of i-FM.net, congratulations to the winners, Yodiwo and UHub.
By bringing together a panel of expert speakers and an audience of FM professionals to tackle some of the hot topics in the world of FM, Workplace Futures helped to explore the role that facilities management can play in a changing world.
